The Ethics of Empathetic Lawyering

The Ethics of Empathetic Lawyering (1.5 CLE/EPR)

Join us for this training on helping clients while they navigate high stress legal problems in pro bono clinics. This training will provide strategies to help identify client priorities and better prepare volunteers to handle difficult situations as they arise.  NOTE:  There are two registration links – In-Person or Zoom webinar.

Presenter:  Atty. Megan Sprecher

Thursday, June 23, 2022  |  2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

  • In-Person Training (Madison) | Registration Link:
Hosted by Foley & Lardner (150 E. Gilman Street, 3rd Floor Isthmus, Madison, Wisconsin)

  • Attend via Zoom | Registration Link:

The Madison training will be followed by a Happy Hour to celebrate the regularly occurring pro bono expungement clinics and longtime collaboration of the Urban League of Greater Madison, WAAL, Foley & Lardner, and Legal Action of Wisconsin. Please contact Claire Silverstein (cms@legalaction.org) to volunteer at the next expungement clinic on June 24!  We appreciate all the time you volunteer providing civil legal aid.

We are requesting approval for 1.5 CLE/Ethics credit.  We will be recording this training for on-demand viewing and CLE credit (ethics credit will only be available for those who attend the training in-person or via Zoom on June 23).

This CLE is free for pro bono attorneys who volunteer with Legal Action.  Please contact Maggie Niebler-Brown at mnb@legalaction.org with questions regarding this project or training.
