Bankruptcy Advice Clinic – Madison

Bankruptcy Clinic - Madison

Bankruptcy Advice Clinic (Madison)

Meet with clients in-person or by phone for this brief advice clinic. Students from UW Law School may be available to help staff this project.  Staff is available to answer questions and provide resources.

Bankruptcy Clinics in Madison take place on second Fridays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

At the Bankruptcy Clinic, volunteer lawyers will:

  • Interview clients to assess the merits of their claims;
  • Provide advice that is tailored to the client’s factual situation;
  • Provide brief services if necessary for credit harassment issues such as drafting a Cease and Desist letter; and
  • Identify cases that will require extended representation.

 To volunteer for this project, please contact the Madison Volunteer Lawyers Project Coordinator, Kristin Hoffschmidt, at kjh@legalaction.org
