We often assist clients with issues related to:
- Seeking recourse for crime victims when their rights have been violated, even if the criminal case is no longer active
- Statewide Sexual Assault Victim Rights and Privacy Protection In partnership with Judicare Legal Aid, including representation of child victims
- Seeking crime victim compensation and restitution
- Seeking restraining orders, the sealing of private documents in criminal cases, and other forms of protecting private information
- Safeguarding safety and privacy, creating safety plans, utilizing the Safe at Home Program and name changes
- Representing victims in active criminal cases to ensure the enforcement and protection of their rights. (Note: We only represent crime victims. We do not do criminal defense.)
- Providing information and advice to crime victims as to their rights throughout the criminal and juvenile justice system from pre-charging of criminal cases through post-conviction issues
- Responding to mental health records requests and other motions seeking private or protected records (i.e., medical, school, cell phone, computer)
